- Gone Girl, by Gillian Flynn
- The Indian Clerk, David Leavitt
I though we mentioned more -- add others in comments.
And October is Should-Have-Read month. I got mine from a list in the Guardian, although I really thought the list was 100 Notable books, not 1000.
So what are people reading that they should have read? Here is a partial, tentative list that we won't hold anybody too if they change their mind:
- On the Road, by Jack Kerouac
- Song of Solomon, Toni Morrison
- Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand
- Moby Dick, by Herman Melville
Atlas Shrugged, by the way, clocked in at Audible.com as the longest book in their catalog at 60 hours. Or, as I recollect it, April and May 2010.
Again, add your own. I did an abysmal job in noting what people said.
