I did check on Old Filth: it has universally good reviews on Amazon. No guarantees, but at least it does not have the love/hate dichotomy reviews of Absurdistan.
Filth is an acronym: Failed in London, try Hong Kong.

Well, there's a chance I may make it after all. If my sister and I stay on schedule in KY, I'm due to fly back to LC on the morning of the 27th. I'm just past the half-way mark of Old Filth and enjoying this one. Ahhhh. What a nice change. Some quirky characters, some interesting history, and so far, not gross. Yay!
